One of the biggest questions asked is what does it do and do I have to shift. The auto clutch engages your manual clutch when your engine rpms increase and releases back at idle. You still have engine braking down to idle and when taking off when done normally, it even sounds like are letting out the clutch. You can still use the manual clutch lever but with zero pull at idle and 1 finger pull up to about half the engine rpm. You have more holding power with the EFM auto clutch than any other type on the market. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear burnouts can be done with ease. You still have to shift, you can use the manual clutch to shift, or just relax the throttle to up shift, and blip to down shift.

THERE IS NO DISADVANTAGE TO THE EFM AUTO CLUTCH!

There is no worry about stalling in traffic, holding in the clutch lever while sitting for a traffic light. A must for jockey shift bikes. If you are a experienced rider than take advantage of the way you can accelerate from a green light. If you are a new rider, you will ride the the confident of just being able to twist the throttle and go even if your on a hill, or just turning around in a tight area. The harder you twist the throttle, the harder the clutch will lock up. Great for trikes and disabled riders.

All auto clutches come with a relay(to keep bike from starting in gear) and all necessary fiber and or steels(plates) for adjustment.

The BDL 3" is a drop in clutch, supplied you with instructions, relay so it wont start in gear, extra steels and a fiber.

primos customer has to do some drilling on the basket.

EFM offer's setting any clutch up for free if you send it to them, just pay the shipping to them and back, if we are drilling the basket(primo), mounting the clutch is free

auto clutches are avaiable for most any type of belt drive, just most of them require drilling an tapping the basket.

EFM can also do specials, and can be with a special outside look to match bike themes etc.

BDL also lets you put some BALLS in your Primo Pro-Clutch belt drive for models 1990-2007 (part# BPP-700) and we didn't forget stock Harley applications from 1998-2007 (part# BPP-500)

BPP-500(642643) Put Balls in your Stock Clutch Fits Harley 1998-2007 our kit is used with the stock clutch basket. It replaces the stock pressure plate and is used with the stock diaphragm spring, spring retainer and bolts

BPP-700(642642) Put Some Balls in your Primo Clutch Fits all Primo belt drives with diaphragm spring 1990-2007. Our kit is used with the Primo clutch basket and replaces the pressure plate, diaphragm and retainer and uses the Primo bolts. (must use BDL diaphragm and retainer for maximum results). Our newly-designed retainer changes the fulcrum point for easier pull.

BELT DRIVES LTD. Closed belt drives for Softail, Dyna, FXR & Shovelhead. Designed for a bolt-in application. Our clutch basket features 12 cylindrical replaceable clutch dogs, which allows our clutch steels to maintain constant contact. The polished pressure plate uses nine shoulder bolts and springs, which allows simple installation. Our Kevlar clutch plates give maximum performance. We include a sealed bearing for the inner primary for 1986 & Up belt drives.

We’ve been making transmission pulleys for years, both aluminum and steel. In short, the teeth on the aluminum pulleys never hold up with miles. Deformed aluminum pulley teeth will lead to saggy belts. Saggy belts and saggy tits are not a good look. For a bike that gets ridden, steel is the only way to go as it relates to the belt running hard against the front and rear pulley teeth.

Steel is also the material of choice for the clutch basket. When a bike is launched hard, the clutch plates aggressively spank the reciprocal flanks on the clutch basket. Reference the competitor’s aluminum clutch basket on the bottom left of this page. Deformed aluminum flanks will lead to increased clutch rattle noise, grabby clutch engagement, and hard shifting1.54 pulley ratio with a 28 tooth pulley on front and a 43 in the rear for a 7% increase in torque to the rear wheel on stock Softails from 1994 to present.

Motor plate and edge guard are made of 6061-T6 plate stock. Pulley caps and dog bone are made of 6061-T6 forgings.
